Manage and share digital images

Whether for marketing or product development, managing digital images is important for many companies. Although there are numerous programs suitable for private use, most of which offer only simple functions for allocating keywords or categories, the availability of corporate solutions for professionally managing digital images is limited. Most of the existing solutions focus on the needs of photo agencies and are thus designed for managing and selling licensed images.

With this in mind and initially on behalf of a customer, OrbiTeam Software GmbH & Co. KG developed a fully web-based image database that is designed primarily for managing and indexing individually-produced images. In addition to the ability to set up shared access in different teams, the system features a simple, easy-to-use interface.

Developed on the basis of real requirements, the system allows companies to efficiently manage digital images and at the same time be able to adapt them for use with various applications.

The fully web-based system offers a wide range of functions integrated in an intuitive user interface. Users can easily upload images via drag'n'drop, manage them in image folders and tag them with detailed meta data. In addition to a preview function, the software features a list view and a map option for displaying geographical information.

The geo-function encompasses not only the automatic extraction of geo-data from digital images and the display of images on a map, but also subsequent geotagging. Users can also easily search for images in the area of a specific address (geosearch). 

Apart from uploading and indexing the images, users are offered a fast and convenient method of locating images with corresponding search masks. For searching and indexing, the system captures the meta data stored in the digital camera (e.g. time, camera model, location) and enhances it with the structured meta data furnished by the user.

Availability

The image database is offered by OrbiTeam Software GmbH & Co. KG as an online service (hosted solution - SaaS model). Your users access the image database with a web browser over a secure connection by means of a user ID and password. The meta data to be managed, as well as the look and feel of the application, can be customised (CL branding). OrbiTeam assumes responsibility for installing the software for the entire service, including data backup and support. That allows you to fully concentrate on managing the images.
